Description
The Martian colonies fight to be self-sustainable in their domed territories. Until they become independent, they are extensions of the unrest on Earth, expected to obey. When a murder is discovered on the Martian surface, alliances are questioned and the fragile peace is tested.
Austra works for the US government to eliminate and sometimes extradite those hiding on Mars. During the administration of a political outsider, budgets are slashed, removing the safeguards for the use of assassins during peacetime.
The fight to be first in harvesting asteroids for raw materials comes to a head when an asteroid of pure metal, 16 Psyche, orbits near Mars. Valued in the quadrillions, the colonies are thrown into conflict.
With a crisis on Mars, Austra is pulled off assignment on Earth to prevent a war. Assassins have changed history by killing leaders and starting revolutions. Can she prevent a war and save Mars?
