Tommy Pagana, an up-and-coming chef, takes a less-than-glamorous job as sous-chef at his uncle’s restaurant in Manhattan’s Little Italy. He expects to concentrate on the kitchen, but the Dreadnought Grill is entangled in a far more dangerous world: the chef struggles with drug addiction, the owner has been set up by the FBI, and Tommy’s wise-guy superiors have connections to big-time crime. When the mob uses the restaurant’s kitchen for a murder, Tommy is pulled into a criminal operation he never learned to handle in cooking school.
Caught between federal agents and eccentric mob associates, he must decide how to follow his conscience while trying to stay alive. As the pressure builds, the restaurant becomes a volatile crossroads of murder, drugs, and deception, populated by unpredictable characters—including a meticulous hitman with an unusual method for avoiding fingerprints.
